The poem by Klaus Groth (1819-1899) is originally in Low German dialect. Nietzsche used a translation into High German by Adolf von Winterfeld (1824-1889).
The final bars should be played lightly, senza misura, the quarter notes a bit faster than the eighth notes of the song.
