A piece in memory of Wolfgang Lendle.
Wolfgang Lendle (1948-2016) was born on January 5, 1948 in Ludwigsburg and grew up in Trier. In Saarbrücken he studied classical guitar with Jirí Jirmal. Lendle successfully participated in numerous competitions, including the Maria Canals Competition in Barcelona, the ORTF Competition in Paris and the ARD Competition in Munich. In master classes and meetings with important players like Andrés Segovia and R. Sainz de la Maza, he received valuable suggestions.
Early played a Lendle plates, his discography includes numerous recordings Spanish and South American champion and his own transcriptions (“Carmen Fantasy”).
In 1985 Wolfgang Lendle was appointed as a guitar teacher at the Kassel Music Academy.An important step for him personally and for the Institute, which was for the training of classical guitar became an important center in Germany – and this reputation by shortly thereafter carried vocation Michael Comforter as lecturers still goal for.
After 28 highly successful years Lendle went in March 2013 to retire. With a brilliant concert he had recently taken leave as Academy lecturer. Lendle, personally always friendly-reserved and modest, exuded a great artistic fascination. His playing combined high virtuosity, tonal sensitivity and a deep musical interpenetration of music.
